What
I'm looking for:
I'm a freelancer (yes, our numbers are legion)
casting about for offsite freelance/contract web development work.
I can design and produce templates, complete websites, redesign
websites, as well as compose Web content (or edit content that
the client provides). I believe in clean and attractive pages,
so I'm not a member of the 'old school' of ugly HTML design. I
also believe that websites should resemble magazine and brochure
pages: graphical, easy to read and navigate. Bandwidth is important,
content is important. It's possible to accommodate both concerns
and still have a pretty website. I can do that.
Fixing what ails a site, design-wise, is my specialty. I've overhauled
many websites by transforming their vintage-1996 look, thus allowing
them to fit into this century. After many years in the corporate
environment, I have developed excellent customer service skills.
I am not a tempermental developer who refuses to listen to client
input.
I will also create web graphics (using Photoshop, Illustrator
and/or Fireworks) to the client's specification and direction.
My other specialty is Flash: whether it's just an 'intro' animation,
interactivity or an entire website. I'm also comfortable working
with PHP and JavaScript -- and firmly believe in external style
sheets (CSS).
I'm currently working as a sub-contractor for two firms: one based
in New York City and the other based in San Diego. Of course, I'm
always looking for more contract work and can work with clients
from coast to coast. I can either work directly with your clients
or through you (as project manager).
